Grave Robbing . . . all about thieves

That got your attention didn't it! LOL No, I don't want to talk about actually robbing graves, but I will tell you about some that did in the past . . . .

The Story Of Thieves

thieves oilPeople often ask how this essential oil blend got the strange name of “Thieves.” The name makes a lot of sense when you know the story…
The story  goes way far back into history. But, it’s important to understand that the use of essential oils and aromatics goes far back too… back to the Old Testament in the Bible.

How Did Thieves Get Its Name?

Black Plague victims
During the 15th-century, the horrible black plague was killing people of all social classes in England. The doctors stood helpless – they had no cure and no prevention. All anyone could do was stay as far away from plague victims as they could.
Yet, somehow a  band of thieves went around, handling and robbing plague victimsfrom their graves of all their jewelry and valuables. Miraculously, the thieves never caught the very contagious disease.
CRAZY. How did they do it? What was protecting them?
Finally, one day,, the grave-robbing thieves were caught. They faced harsh sentences for their crimes.
But… the people, the  demanded to know their secret. If they were hung, no one would ever know!
The public’s insistence lead those in charge to strike a deal with the thieves. Would they reveal the secret that protected them from the plague in exchange for a lighter sentence?
The thieves took the deal.

It turns out that these were no ordinary thieves. They were spice traders who often traveled the Silk Road. Their knowledge of essential oils and spices taught them the exact oils to apply onto their bodies to protect themselves from the plague.
Luckily, their recipe was recorded in the court records. But finding court records from the 15th century was not an easy task. After an exhaustive search by D. Gary Young of Young Living Essential Oils, they were unearthed and the contents revealed to modern times.
Young Living’s Thieves® essential oil blend was based on this long-lost recipe and named in honor of the thieves that first used it.
This essential oil blend was university tested for its cleansing abilities. Further tests at various institutions around the world are discovering that the oils in Thieves are highly effective in supporting the immune system and good health.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness

After about 1 1/2 years of using essential oils, I am still amazed at how much of an impact they have made on my family! Our health and wellness is dramatically better.  And when I say health, I don't just mean our physical health, being well/sick. I am also referring to OVERALL health. We are mentally healthier, physically healthier and spiritually healthier.
Spirituality has everything to do with wellness. God created the Heaven's and the Earth. God created the land and the water. God created the animals and the PLANTS. . . .
I thank God everyday for bring Essential Oils into my life and for their wonderful benefits.
I love knowing that I am treating my family with pure essential oils that have not been modified, I love knowing that I am using natural ingredients to clean and purify our home.
When I first started using oils to clean, My husband made the remark that it didn't "smell" clean. After a while, I went back to a store brand synthetic chemical cleaner. When he got home, first thing he said was "ugh what is that chemical smell?"
We have all grown up using chemicals to clean our homes and thus, that smell is what smells "clean" to us. After getting rid of the chemicals for a while, it become apparent that the "clean" smell is a "chemical" smell.
